Organizing your home can seem like a daunting task, especially if you are new to it. But don’t worry — I have compiled some beginner-friendly organization hacks that will help get your house in order quickly and effortlessly!

These beginner-friendly simple tricks can make organizing your space faster, easier, and more efficient while also giving off an ‘Instagrammable’ vibe.

They are sure to kickstart your journey toward creating a neat and tidy home without you needing years of experience or advanced organizational skills. Trust me, I have none of those, and somehow, I manage to have my house organized, every time I move (which usually happens at least once every two years).

Organizing a home is a scary thing, especially if you live in an actual house and not just a studio apartment. But these simple tips will help you get started and keep your mess at bay.

I absolutely fell in love with the process of organizing your home, and I can’t wait to share with you all the things that will help you to have that perfect guest-ready house.

But we have to start small, so here are my best 7 organizing tips for beginners.

Start By Decluttering Your Space

The first step to getting your home organized is to declutter since, of course, the more things you have, the more time you’ll spend organizing them. And there is a high chance that some of the things need to leave your home rather than be reorganized.

You might have some old clothes, books, or other items that have been collecting dust for years. The good news is that decluttering your space can be a relaxing and fulfilling process.

To begin, take inventory of the items that you no longer need or use. Once you’ve gathered these items together, get rid of them by donating them to your local charity shop or throwing them away. This is a great way to reduce clutter and create more space in your home!

Once you’ve cleared out the unnecessary clutter, you’ll find that your space feels much more peaceful and calming. Plus, you’ll have a renewed sense of energy and productivity to tackle other tasks on your to-do list.

I find that laziness is a great motivator when decluttering. Do I really want to keep it so then I have to think about where to put it, or can I get rid of it since I haven’t used the item in the last two years anyways?

Set A Daily Plan For Cleaning And Decluttering

Keeping a home tidy can sometimes feel like an impossible feat. Between work, family, and other commitments, it can be difficult to find the time and motivation to stay on top of cleaning and decluttering.

However, setting a daily plan for these tasks can make a world of difference. By breaking down the work into manageable chunks, you’ll avoid feeling overwhelmed and be more likely to stick to your plan.

Probably the best thing you can do to help you with organizing your stuff, but also for keeping things organized, is to designate a special place for each item.

By doing this, you’ll know exactly where something goes when you’re finished using it. This will also make finding items much easier when needed. And as an added bonus, you won’t have to worry about clutter taking over your home.

This system can work for anything from kitchen utensils to clothing, and you’ll be amazed at how much time and effort you save in the long run.

Get Creative With Storage Spaces

You might think that you don’t really have much space to store things in your house, but you actually have much more space than you think! The secret is to utilize it properly and think outside the box.

From shelves and hooks to closets and even under the bed, there are a number of ways you can use your existing space in order to gain more room. And if you’re feeling especially creative, why not try combining two different storage solutions in order to maximize efficiency?

This could include storing items vertically on shelves or adding hooks behind a door for hanging purses or coats.

Whatever you decide, the key is to make sure that each item has its own designated spot so that it’s easy to find when needed. With a little bit of creativity, your home can be transformed into an oasis of organized bliss!

Use Storage Bins To Contain Smaller Items

I like to call them doom boxes – if you have tons of small items and have no idea where to put them, they can be a great solution!

With a wide variety of sizes and styles available, you can easily find the perfect storage bin to fit your needs and style. So they are not only awesome for storing those pesky small items but can also serve as home decor.

And nobody will know how it’s a bit of a disorganized mess of small items inside.

The key to making it organized and thought through is to make sure you have some kind of categories assigned to each box. For example, I have a special box of things I usually carry in my bag, or a box for home delated tiny items that I might need to use sometime.

That way, it’s not disorganized – each box has a purpose, and it will automatically give you an idea of what kind of items you can find there.

Create A System For Organizing Paperwork

I feel like paperwork is the easiest type of clutter to accumulate. A week after I organize stuff in my house, I usually already end up with a bunch of bills and receipts lying all over the house and making it look so messy.

But creating a system for organizing your paperwork was a game changer!

I recommend getting some type of paper organizer, or at least a few folders, and dividing your paperwork by categories.

By implementing this system, you’ll be able to easily find what you need when you need it, and say goodbye to the stress and frustration that comes with disorganized paperwork. Plus, it will make tax season a little less daunting.

Use Labels To Identify What’s Inside Easily

Using labels or tags on your drawers and containers can save you time and frustration by identifying their contents at a glance.

These can be as simple or creative as you like- you could use printed labels, handwritten tags, or even colorful stickers. Whichever option you choose, make sure it’s functional and easy to see and understand.

With this system in place, your search for items will be much faster and easier.

Plus, I love this because it allows you to get a bit more creative and add some personality to your tags.

Taking on the challenge of getting organized can be overwhelming at first, but hopefully, these organization hacks have given you some good ideas that you can use to tackle your space.

Everyone’s home is different, so the best plan of attack is to find what works for you. Start small and work your way up; it doesn’t have to all be done in a day!
