Well hello!
I’m Maria
I’m a self-employed creative with a neurodivergent brain trying to find my place in the world and actually keep it organized.
I love thinking of myself as a citizen of the world since I left my home country in 2011 and have been living all over the world, until I found my forever home in Lisbon.
If I’m not working on my blogs, you’ll probably find me exploring thebeautiful city I live in or watching some true crime documentaries. I know, so different hahahha
My hobbies include Bullet Journaling, doodling, and reorganizing my workspace for the 100th time.
If you want to learn more about Bullet Journaling and how it can help you build a new life and reach your goals, be sure to check my other blog Masha Plans.
I know how it is…
I’ve been where you are; building an organized home without any clutter is hard work! I used to move almost every year, and I moved countries several times, and still, every time, I found myself drowning in all the junk no one ever needed.
I spent hundreds of dollars to send boxes of my stuff across the world to my parent’s house. I literally paid to keep the junk I’ll never need!
My pattern is pretty straightforward – I settle down, I buy stuff, and then it just sits there collecting dust and taking away my space and energy.
And then I move and drag it all over the world with me because I could never get it together and admit I have to declutter.
In 2019 I had to move country again, and I only had two suitcases to pack my stuff. So I literally spend months decluttering my apartment and reorganizing all my things.
And you know what? I loved it! All the freedom you get from finally not having all the junk at home felt terrific!
Then I started working from home, and I got into the organization. It all started with me organizing my stationery and other work-related supplies so I remember to use them, but pretty soon, you’ll see me spending weekends organizing my sock drawer.
Having a well-organized home, free of clutter and thought-through working space, was a game changer for my life and my work.
But it’s not all roses. I know how hard it is to declutter and organize, to see all the mess come back in a few weeks because this is how things work for me, especially since I got a dog and way more work than I can handle.
So I had to get creative and find a way for all my work to never go to waste.
Once I figured that out, I decided to start this blog, so I share my tips for overcoming all these obstacles, the little systems I found useful, and helping you build the home of your dreams.
Decluttering and Organization can be overwhelming
Especially if you’re just starting. I know the feeling! At a certain point, it just feels like it’s too much to deal with it, and maybe you just should throw it all away and start from zero, but that’s silly, so you just put it off and struggle to find scissors when needed.
I don’t need to tell you that; you probably know yourself that internal dread of a messy, cluttered house, especially when your mom is visiting.
But as terrifying as the big picture looks, there are tips and tricks that help you get started in small steps until, eventually, you find your home transformed, your life feeling freer, and your days being more fun and productive.
And I’m here to help you make each little step, cheer you on, and build together the home you always wanted.
